Most of the posts on this blog are really quite interesting. Do check it out !
This one particularly has me amazed !
The Victoria Falls situated on the Zambezi river between Zimbabwe and Zambia, where during the low season, you can actually stand right at the edge of the falls!! Keep in mind that this is the largest waterfall in the world in terms of volume. Easy access from both countries and good rail and bus links, make it a popular and inexpensive destination. Tourism in the recent years has increased rapidly, to a million visitors a year.

Barack Obama: first African American to be nominated as a Presidential candidate from a major political party. Thurs Aug 28, 2008: exactly 45 years after a man with a dream stood on the steps of the Lincoln Memorial before a 200,000 strong crowd, an African American has almost risen to the highest possible office and made that dream a reality.
Obama's speech was moving to say the least. He touched upon all the issues that he promises to bring change to, and everything had a personal touch. Democrats who are often described as "bringing a knife to a gun battle" can be proud of their candidate, who fearlessly threw quite a few punches John McCain's way. After 8 years of tough talking and little action, America needs to stand up. "Change doesn't come FROM Washington, Change goes TO Washington." Point by point he refuted all the charges laid against him by the GOP, half of which are ridiculous. The only thing which some people might have felt was lacking, was a reach out to the Hillary supporters.
These persons spoke to Larry King on CNN:
For all those in the Just Say No Deal coalition, all I can say is, you have no principles. Cynthia Ruccia, a strong Hillary Clinton supporter now supports John McCain. Reason? The Democratic Party shouldn't be rewarded for their behaviour during the campaign which they feel was sexist. Is she against the war in Iraq? Yes. Is she pro-choice? Yes. Does she know McCain's views are exactly the opposite on these issues? Yes. But all this takes the back seat. WomenForFairPolitics.com and sexism. That's what she feels is more important! Not better healthcare, education or lower taxes for 95% of working Americans.
Elizabeth Joyce, of HigherHeels.com, another Clinton supporter, feels Obama 'hasn't earned her vote.' Don't listen to Clinton for whom she worked so hard, who now is throwing all her effort into backing Obama. She is waiting for a personal request from the man himself. McCain hasn't asked for her vote either. So her policy is this: He who asks for my vote, Gets it !! Where are your principles missy?? Don't you have a mind and don't you know what you want for your future? If spending billions on a war that shouldn't have started in the first place, and drilling for oil is what you want, stand up and vote for McCain. Don't do it cause you feel left out by Obama.
All I have to say is, GOBAMA !! \m/

With the wonders of the internet, the things you can do are unlimited. Google in itself is a Godsend. With close to little effort I can carry out an interesting study. Hence, this little experiment of mine.
Aim : To study the influence of "popular keywords" on site traffic
Apparatus : Google Analytics
Procedure : Randomly filling in keywords that are (I think) commonly searched for

It's Britney Bitch !!
I was watching the Jimmy Kimmel show on the telly a few nights ago. Its killer by the way ! And well he pointed out that his band leader and saxophone player Cleto Escobedo III (such a cool name, has a touch of royalty.. makes me wish I was named Alexander III..) looks kinda like Adnan Ghalib, Britney's latest boy toy.

Adnan______________________Cleto
For those of you who know me well enough, I used to be a lowdown sleazebag celebrity reporter myself. So every now and then, I like to keep up with the industry news. Boy oh boy is gossip alive or what !! One of the umpteen celeb sites gave me the dirt. Adnan who used to/ still is a paparazzo for photo agency FinalPixx, seems to have found a place in mizz spears' heart (and bed.) PS:he's already married.
Like it is in these fast and easy times, the multitude had their bit to put in. From him being a Muslim but wearing a cross, to arguments over whether he's a Paki or Afghani (fcuk you racists) everyone had had their say. Though one guy's comment seemed to sum it all up quite well :
"This news story is about as mind-expanding as watching paint dry…"

White Girls Can't Dance but White Boyz can rap homie !!
Watching the Ellen Degeneres show most afternoons just confirms this fact : White girls can't dance! (They oughtta learn to bump n grind from d honeys in da club with a lotta junk in their trunk.) This bring to mind Canadian born comedian of Indian origin, Russell Peters' famous observation while walking down Sunset Blvd. A nightclub was playing a song so loud, that you could hear it on the street. "...white people who were walking by and driving by, stopped dead in their tracks, to do the yyyYMCA. "
No offence though, and I must add I love her show. The silly antics and wise cracks too. Though her show lacks the personal touch of the Oprah Winfrey show that does truly touch you, one is spared from the Dr. Phil sessions.
But when it comes to rappin', (woop woop MC Serch), white boyz from the burbs bring the heat as well. Gone are the days when only haters from the hood have the club bangin'. This is a shout out to my homie Em and G-Unit for gettin me hooked. Who else can spit such dope rhymes and killer hooks?
Peace out !
"nowadays everyone wants to be black.. ..until the cops show up!"

Of the Olympics and Blogging
With all the excitement of the Olympics, I've got quite immersed in it all myself. Phelps has been phenomenal, Indian shooter Bindra's success was plain luck (stfu.. he said it too!!) and boxing is my latest passion. The opening ceremony was mindblowing, something which only the Chinese have the skill and discipline to put up. Although DD, the only Indian channel with broadcasting rights for the Olympics lost transmission halfway through, it wasn't too bad a loss, what with the monotonous Hindi commentary.
The only blotch on that almost perfect Olympic opening ceremony, came to light a few days later. 7 year old Lin Miao Ke who had an audience of more than 4 billion worldwide listen to hear sing 'Ode to the Motherland', was only lip syncing to Yang Peiyi's voice, who was not allowed by show organizers to perform as she has 'buck teeth'. Putting on a perfect show eh mister? A raised middle finger from me for that. Still, the song is brilliant and has me playing it on loop. You can listen to/download it here
A big thank you to my new found pen pal in China, Chenxi Shen.
That reminds me, Posterous is quite a cool site. Not that posting on blogs was oh so difficult, but they've just made it way easier. Just send out a mail with attached photos/mp3s/files and its made into a blog post. Way too cool !!

The Original
This person has done one better and gone and actually written a poem about a toilet !! Must've had a terrible case of diarrhea !!
Ode to Toilet
In sickness I have sought
your cooling grace
and you have received
without question or shame
the parts of my being
that I could no longer contain.
You have soothed
the cramping of my bar-torn body,
supported the thorough cleansing
of my noisy soul
when no one else would listen.
You have tolerated
all the vile projectiles
I could hurl,
always remaining constant
refreshing my view of life
allowing catharsis
epitomizing receptivity.
Oh Goddess of the Toilet
I thank you
